Where am I right now?

I’m right in the middle of revisions. I took a vacation from THE LAST ONSET to help distance myself, and I started in on a new WIP. Which has been amazing and fun, but now I feel it’s time to go back. As much as I loved THE LAST ONSET, there were always a few things in the back of my mind that bothered me. Only, I had no idea how to fix it.

Which totally sucks, but there you have it.

So what did I do? I sent my manuscript off, since it was the best I can make it. [Did I mention that right before doing this, word decided to be hostile and actually CREATE spelling errors in my word doc. And then refused to mark them. I had to go through and find them ALL. Despite this, I think a few spelling errors slipped through. How embarrassing.]

I had some great response, and some great feedback to boot. But more importantly, in the 6 weeks I haven’t touched my manuscript, my mind has had time to resolve some issues. *cheer* And now I’m diving into revisions, which I am so excited about.

That’s my update for now. Look forward to Wednesday, where I’ll post some tips on revising. So in the meantime, What is new with you?

  1. Good for you! It takes guts and courage to go back and fix up a work that you already considered to be finished a few times over, lol. You’ve got a great title there too, I love it!

  2. I’m so excited to get to the point when I can put Melisma aside for a few weeks. If I can just get through this draft….(And come up with a new title, now that I think of it. Mine is SO lame.) I really want to start on my new WIP. I’ve been figuring it out in my head and it wants to get on paper. More motivation to finish this Melisma draft, I suppose.
