So there are these two video clips on youtube for Hunger Games that you have to check out.
THIS ONE is the scene where Rue dies and Katniss sings her song. It’s pretty intense, and it’s an audition tape for the actress.
THIS ONE is a scene between Peeta and Katniss in the cave. It’s not an audition tape like the other one, but it’s to see if the two characters have chemistry. What do you think?
I’ve heard rumors that they’ve shortlisted actresses for Katniss, and Danielle Churchill doesn’t seem to be on it. I think she did a remarkable job in these clips, though Katniss came across as too sweet in the second one. I’d always pictured her colder, darker. But this gave a good insight as to her “screen face” and why Peeta liked her, though I still needed to see that hint of darkness.
Disagree with me if you want, but I do think that if they don’t end up getting this girl for the show, the girl they do get will have to at least match the amazing performances displayed in these clips.

I felt the same way about her sweetness, but after getting over the shock, I liked the added dimension. The way I viewed Katniss shifted just a little for the better.
